On Sunday, September 7, St. Mark’s will join with ELCA congregations all over the US in a day of service to our neighbors.
This year’s project will be a month long (Sept 7. – Oct. 5) pet food and supplies donation drive in support of Franny's Friends Animal Rescue in Lumberton.
Also, we will be hosting special events in conjunction with Franny's Friends that culminate with the traditional Blessing of the Animals at the beginning of October in honor of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals.
Check back often for more specific details on how and where you can donate food & supplies as well as the special events we will host.
“God’s Work. Our Hands.” Sunday began in 2013 in connection with the ELCA’s 25th anniversary. It continues to be an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the ELCA — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. This year we also celebrate 50 years of ELCA World Hunger.
